Ranjheya Ve
Mukh modna yaar da kamm nahi
Yaari todna pyaar da kamm nahi
Tere naal mein marangi ranjheya ve
Jive'n kahvega karangi ranjheya ve
Sir kadma te dharangi ranjheya ve
Jive'n kahvega karangi ranjheya ve
Tere hukam te jaan nisar kar saan
Tere pyaar vich khud nu visaar kar saan
Tere naal mein marangi ranjheya ve
Jive'n kahvega karangi ranjheya ve
About
175 million views. No label. No Bollywood placement. No big budget promotional machine behind it. Just a Pakistani Sufi singer, a dholak, and lyrics written by a Sufi poet named Faqir M. Gulzar Sabri that have been touching hearts for generations. That is the story of Ranjheya Ve by Zain Zohaib.
The song dropped on December 26, 2023 through Yratta Media, and what followed was one of the most organic viral moments Pakistani music has seen in recent years. Most of the people in the comments are from India, and many of them found it through Instagram reels before they even knew the artist's name. That kind of cross-border connection through music is not something you can manufacture.
The production by Harris Irshad is beautifully restrained. The dholak, played by Ghulam Abbas, gives the track that classic Sufi rhythm that immediately puts you in a different headspace. The guitar by Balaj Hussain adds just enough texture without pulling attention away from Zain Zohaib's voice. And that voice is the thing people keep coming back to. Multiple comments compare it to the late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, which is not a comparison anyone makes lightly.
Zain Zohaib himself addressed a common misunderstanding in the pinned comment, clarifying that the lyrics are a spiritual expression of devotion rooted in Sufi tradition, not a conventional romantic song. Once you know that context, lines like 'tere naal mein marangi ranjheya ve' hit on a completely different level.
The choreography in the video also deserves a mention. Multiple viewers pointed out how soothing and well-executed the classical dance sequences are, adding a visual layer that matches the emotion of the music perfectly.

This is a Zain Zohaib song that belongs on every serious playlist, whether you are into Sufi music, Punjabi classics, or just looking for something that actually makes you feel something.
