Let me share my experience of the first time I saw Aradhana back in 1974, just 5 years after the film was released. I was a teenager, 14 years old. In those days in Nigeria, where I come from, cinema halls were built such that half of the hall was roofed and the other half was open - no roofing! So when it rains audience in the open section all rush to the roofed section to avoid being beaten by the heavy downpour! I was riveted to the happenings on the screen through the whole film, my cloths drenched by the heavy downpour! Who cares! I was lost in the beautiful world of Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore in Aradhana! Today I'm 62 years old and I still relive that experience with joy in my heart!

I was a 7-year-old kid when I heard it the first time in 1969. It was FIRST-time KK was lending his voice for anyone other than Dev Anand. Nobody knew with this Aalap, in this movie both Kishore Kumar and Rajesh Khanna would instantly become the SUPERSTARS of their fields. Rajesh Khanna became the FIRST Superstar of Indian cinema after Aradhana while Kishore Kumar the KING of all Bollywood singers from 1969 to 1987 when he died at 57. KK had NO competition and NO parallel in those 18 years, neither did he need any propaganda to call him VOICE OF GOD. Everyone from Rajesh Khanna to Amitabh wanted Kishore Kumar. In both, their successes Kishore Kumar was one of the main reasons. Kishore Kumar became the SUPERSTAR MAKER of Bollywood in that era
